Character History
Born in Perry, Kansas on October 17, 1991, she was a joy to her parents and her older brother, she grew up into a cute little bundle of energy.
Maya was always a cute girl and very curious. She rarely liked other children her age, but spent a lot of time with her older brother, Ash. her curiousness often made her ask him questions, which he would readily answer. The girl enjoyed her time with Ash, bonding with him more than she could her peers. She found her biggest Asset: an eidetic memory. She wanted to soak everything in that she could learn.
When the various television stations started running translated anime, the girl started into Manga as well, with the help of self learning tapes and books from the library, she learned Japanese to perhaps get past the need to buy it translated. This gave her something that she could learn more from,
When she was 12, she was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a type of cancer that targets children. She didn't say anything, but she saw the troubles that this aused her family, how it seemed harder for her parents to make ends meet. She wasn't sure as to the exact why. It wasn't until later that she realized her brother was also working to help make ends meet.
This cast her into a bit of a depression, but nothing like the call that her parents had been killed in an accident. She took the news as well as she could, but didn't speak about it to anyone, not even the resident therapist that came to see her. She spent her days in the hospital alone and slept as much as she could to gather her strength. It was only late night visits from her brother that kept her going.
It didn't take long for her to figure out something was wrong, and even less time to weedle the information out of Ash, even at the promise of never telling anyone. At least She knew. that's all that counted to her. He took her from where she was, trying to help out as best he could with what he had, but eventually, the cancer was becoming too much.
She'd watched him a bit late at night, when she couldn't sleep, while he was at his computer. she took in what exactly he was doing, but she didn't say anything, just watched, taking it all in.
She saw Ash become more and more desolate, until one night, he told her what he was going to do. She listened and gave a faint nod at what he said, allowing him to do what he wished, freezing her body in time.
Moving to Japan brought the young girl to a closer proximity to anime and manga, something that she has always been obsessed with.

2007
The few months of 2007 that Maya spent in the city, showed her meeting people and getting into many heated discussions. The teen also met Noah, who seems to be the one person, other than Ash that she can open up to fully.
Her Sharp tongue has gotten her into many disagreements with Kindred around the city, most especially noted are the Invictus.
She also got a job at Ego magazine doing work on their website.
2008
2008 found Maya in a job, enrolling in a private school, paying her tuition and still working, getting into more heated debates.
Due to a twist of fate, she found herself in Asuka's care for quite a few months and found that she was fond of the woman, even though part of her started a gnawing doubt over how her brother thought of her.
Valentine's Day was an aggravation for her, as Noah had been torped shortly before, leaving her angry at events that had gone on.
Even upon the return to Ash's side, it seemed that things were wrong. She felt needed to watch over Shiori as she got involved with Rose, but she could only do so much before she was chastised and told to stay out of it.
The teen continued to meet kindred, get to know them. Much to the displeasure of Ash, she became friends with Vipus. The two have never been on good terms, constantly fighting and causing stress upon the teen as she felt more and more like she needed to find a way to make sure her brother was happy.
An upset, and irrate, schoolmate brought things to a final peak between Ash and Vipus, and inadvertently Maya, as Ash was torped when Vipus brought Katsumi to their home to 'reclaim' Devin.
This brought a hatred to Maya regarding the man, but nothing supernatural, the normal paranoia of her 'hobby' came crashing down and she spat, yelled and screamed, barely making things nice between them again as she looked for homes that would work for herself, Ash, and, much to her joy, Noah, who had said he would move in with them.
The Happiness of this was doubled with the gift of a Promise ring from Noah to Maya right before they spent 5 days and 4 nights at Tokyo Disney.
The Return brought her to the new home that gave her a wonderful joy and she is working to make it a home.
Character Description
Maya is a young American girl, appearing fourteen, she is slender and yet not too tall (around 5'2" - flatfooted - and 110lbs), her chestnut hair is normally hidden in a wig, or painted up with blue and black streaks. Her clothing is either relaxed or Cosplay, depending on her mood ((SL2, Pres 2, Unobtrusive))
