Write ups

Write ups and dentention are the most common punishments, both may be given if the teacher or resident advisor deems it appropriate. The main difference between the two is detention consists of 30-60 minutes of after school time in study hall, there is no talking during this time and the students must work on home work. Write ups are a form that documents bad behavior. When a student receives three write ups a fun activity such as commons time, gym time, pool time, etc. is removed for one week. When a student receives 5 write ups, those activities are removed for two weeks. When a student receives ten write ups, they must serve one day of in school suspension and a call is placed to their parents.

Curfew

Students are allowed to enter the property unescorted anytime before curfew. They are allowed to leave anytime after classes and up to 30 minutes before curfew. Students who return after curfew are held by the guard until a resident advisor can come and escort the student back to their dorm.

Students who break curfew by less than an hour are written up and receive three hours of detention. Students who break curfew by less than an hour more than three times in a month get a call home and a day of in school suspension.

Students who break curfew by more than an hour, but do return at some point during the night, are written up, receive one to two days in school suspension depending on how late it was and a call home. Students who break this more than once, automatically jump to a week of in school suspension. Repeat violators of this offense are candidates for suspension.

Students who do not return until the next day are written up, receive three days in school suspension and a call home. Students who break this more than once automatically receive three days of suspension. Repeat violators of this offense are candidates for expulsion.

Skipping Class

Each time a class is skipped a call goes home to parents and the student must serve one hour of detention. If a student skips the entire day, a call goes home to parents and the student must take 3 days of in school suspension.

Absences

When a student is ill, a call from parents must be made by 9AM. If that call is not made and the student is not on grounds, a call home is made to report this. Students who skip more than one day will be reported to truancy officers and if found in public will be brought back to school. Students who frequently skip are subject to suspension or expulsion.

Lewd or innapropriate behavior

General misbehavior is dealt with by instructions by detention or write ups. Lewd/Sexual behavior will result in more severe consequences. Cheating, Plagiarism, Hazing, Drugs, Fighting or Bullying will be dealt with by suspension.
