Background
Raised in a little town in Texas to 2nd generation Japanese-American parents, Gin was always the exotic, attractive girl. While she never got along all that well with her parents, she was well loved by her grandmother, a half Japanese, half Korean woman who married an Mexican-American soldier during the Korean war.
Gin always drew a lot of attention over her appearance, but all she ever wanted was to be taken seriously as an artist. She wrote her first song at age 9, and fought her parents tooth and nail for singing, dance and guitar lessons. In the beginning they pacified her with ballet and piano lessons, but by high school Gin had a habit of skipping school to hang out on the street. After failing a few classes her parents reluctantly traded good attendance and good grades for everything from singing, guitar and dance lessons. She became a model student, impressing her parents academically, but tended to write off everything she could other than her music. Her parents, anxious to have her go to college kept a tight reign on her and hoped for the best.
She formed a band at 17 with four men, two her age, two older. Her parents were terrified she was going down a a bad road. By 18, her band was doing well, playing four dates a month and some of the better clubs around Dallas, Houston and Austin. Gin barely graduated high-school, not for lack of intelligence, but sheerly for lack of attendance.
By 20, the band had been signed with virgin records and produced their first record. It made it into the top 20 in its first week and subsequent sales made the band wealthy. The band immediately began to tour, gaining fame quickly. By 21 however, fame started to catch up to them. Gin had started snorting coke to keep up her energy on stage. Her performances were starting to suffer and her body was wearing down from stress, constant travel and coke use. She passed out one night at a club from a sudden drop in blood pressure and was taken to the hospital. The doctors warned her that her symptoms were leading to heart attack and death. She took a week off, but due to her contract had to immediately return to touring.
It was 6 weeks later, Gin was dragging, exhausted, desperate to get high and had been dragged out to a private party. She sulked in the corner, wanting nothing more than to go to bed. She met a handsome man at that party named Gregg. He brought her drinks and kept her company, making the whole party a lot more bearable. Eventually, a model brought out a large bag of coke and started drawing out lines. Gin frustrated, got up to leave, angry and desperate for the drug. Gregg coaxed her into doing a line, then another, the drug filling that empty spot, making her feel so much better. The same model commented on how horrible Gin looked and how sad it was for Gregg to convince her to get high. If her comments had been meant in concern, Gin might have let them go, but the haughty, rude attitude of the model as she snorted her own lines pissed Gin off. Sitting beside Gregg, she made a joke "What would you give me if I went and broke that bitch's nose and fucked up her precious face?" He laughed and responded. "How about I make it so the drugs don't destroy you?" Gin didn't really believe him, but she nodded and agreed. She got up, and broke the woman's nose in three places, disfiguring her. Gin, high and angry didn't really take in the thought of disfiguring the woman, but she did feel quite a bit of relief.
Gin left Gregg her phone number and went on with her tour, a week later, he called her and offered her his promise. After explaining to her (deleted information) Gin wasn't sure what to think until her drug use stopped causing her pain and grief. It was as though only the good parts shone through from then on out. After a few months, she contacted him and asked him for more. (deleted information)
(deleted information) Her career is still on top, record and ticket sales are strong. She tours six months out of the year, writes and records the other six. She is currently in Tokyo meeting her last few tour dates before a vacation.
