Garrick Crassus is a bit of a controversial figure, he rose to prominence slowly over the last 6 years, as he established a string of nightclubs and high end strip clubs in Nashville, San Fransisco, Russia and London. He was able to turn the profits around to finance what was originally a Maxam rip off called Ego. Superior writing and stunning pictorials helped elevate the magazine above it's humble beginnings and within six months it became a National publication, within a year it was international, with editions in several countries. Crassus himself, during that time has made a reputation for himself, both through his general philanthropy as well as his well documented binge partying. The Tabloids have caught pictures of him with several well known models and actresses. He has been the target of several paternity suits, though all have been settled out of court with all parties agreeing not to disclose the terms. He has made several appearances on the E channals best of series, commented on various shows, and has chaired several international fashion shows, In june 2006 he began plans to move to Tokyo to publish the Japanese edition of Ego.
PRIVATE
Garrick was born in Russia in 1964 to the Crassus family. Like most Crassus he was unaware that the family itself was the creation of careful breeding between Vampire ghouls to produce a line able to serve the Invictus line of Kindred. This was however made clear to him when a Daeva named Sasha made him her servant, and ghouled him. He served her for four years until she tired of him, and he went back to the family Estate.
Determined to make something of himself separate from the Vampires that controlled the family, he began traveling when he reached his early 30's and building the Aphrodite chain of Strip clubs, as well as the Apollo members only clubs. Eventually he arrived in Nashville and met members of the Mathieu family, becoming somewhat involved with Elise Mathieu. He also became partially bound, and ghouled to the Lancea Sanctum Templar Asuka Langley.
His dancers were, unknown to all but the private members of Apollo's, also high priced call girls. One of them Ava came from an Estate connected to his own family's. He became involved with her as well, and a Mathieu named Kismet, whom eventually became pregnant and addicted to Heroin. Becoming so involved with so many women, his lifestyle catching up to him, he left town with Ava and they went back to Russia, where he established the last of his clubs.
It wasn't long after that he tired of Ava, and when an uncle determined that he would be the right choice to start a publishing line offered to help him, he jumped at the chance and left Russia, moving to France to establish Ego. During this time he also discovered a love for racing, and performed well in several celebrity races. It was here that most of his controversy began.
Recently, Garrick moved to Tokyo to begin the Japanese edition and to his complete surprise discovered that several of the Mathieu women were there, though, thankfully not Kismet. He has tried unsuccessfully to start dating again, but his work has gotten the bulk of his time, and the drinking has gotten worse.
While he knows about Vampires, and his families connection to them, he tries not to think about it too hard. He would like to regain his ghoul abilities however, and is considering making a mutual arrangement with a kindred, if he can find one he considers worthy of such a deal.
