Character Description
Claudia stands at 5'11" a tall eastern European woman with wavy mid length black hair with a blueish tint, It's normally kept up out of her face with pins. Her brown eyes are set with a pale tint of green makeup and stark red lipstick contrasts her olive complexion. She looks to be in her late twenties, and carries herself with a calm authoritative posture. Normally dressing in light fashionable clothing she carries a pocket book with her for personal effects. Character Background
Claudia Boroi, born 1910 in the Austro-Hungarian Empire to a wealthy family of the era. Raised in a life of privilege and socially groomed to fit her place in the polite society of the time. Most of her schooling came from private tutors and girl's only boarding schools, and the families libraries. During "the great war" the Boroi family’s industrial connections helped fuel the conflict producing weapons and equipment for the military. During the war Claudia had developed a detachment from humanity as her understanding of the business of war and cold numbers of life and death.
As a teenager her life was spent in the rigidly formal structure of society life of the early 1900’s. The male dominated culture of old Romania and her mannerly instruction bred a deep feeling of contempt for those above her station. Hidden behind the mask of polite behavior was a bitter and often callous person growing in her persona. Attractive and demure on the outside her family hoped to wed her off to further their social ties in the empire.
Nearing her twenties Claudia realized she would be passed over for her younger brother to take the traditional head of the family role. It was at this time she began plotting against her own blood to find a way to discredit or even have him killed. In the closing months of the war her voice was the one that convinced the young heir to volunteer to the officer corps and with her gentle manipulation of his sibling trust has sent off her own brother to the meat grinder of war. Unknown to Claudia at the time powerful people in the kindred community had their eyes set on the Boroi family to bring their industrially acquired wealth into the will and control of their world. Upon learning of her brother's death Claudia shed her last superficial tears and sealed herself in the eyes of her soon to be sire as sufficiently callous enough to be embraced to bring their family into the kindred world.
It did not take the Romanian socialite long to learn the customs and proper order of life among the undead. The rigid caste structure of her mortal life felt similar in form to this new one. It was not long before old habits and hatreds arose in her again after realizing the immortally frozen hierarchy of vampires would keep her from truly achieving any sort of real position of power among this new family she started to plot and scheme against her elder senior kindred seeking out their personal skeletons to use them as blackmail or ammunition to sink their standing and raise her own. At times even resorting to arranging elaborately planned accidents and the disappearances of other kindred she had marked unworthy of existence as a vampire.
This behavior was hidden behind her polite and proper demeanor though as others begun to delve deeper into her affairs Claudia was forced to abandon her ancestral home that had been now carved up by the war and quickly falling into economic ruin she fled her domain to move across Europe finding a new place to take residence. Every twenty or so years of this behavior moved Claudia across Europe to finally settle in Germany for some time. Paris had become her home during the second great war, and with another arms race churning across the world her old family’s wealth grew larger. The having National Socialist party in power made arranging the disposal of prey fairly easy for the short years it was occupied. Using her contacts with the German special secret police several members of the kindred of Berlin were disposed of as conspirators and spies to the war effort.
Stories began to circulate that these raids and accidents were all too convenient to be just coincidence. All those that had been killed had been revealed as week of mind or lax in the laws that govern the undead society. While her involvement was never confirmed the rumor and stories of the toten giest “deaths ghost” a vampire that punished or killed wayward kindred that were suspect of slights against the traditions. A ghost story told among monsters, how appropriate Claudia would think.
After the end of the war Claudia’s high profile activities ended for a while having had the opportunity to eliminate some of her rivals inside the city she took some time to distance herself from Berlin, hopping around Europe to avoid the hunts for war profiteers and criminals of man and vampire alike. For a time she was in France, and Italy living off the funds structured when she was alive.
This nomadic lifestyle felt absolutely boorish to claudia’s tastes. After decades of avoiding the rumors of her past and the name of death’s ghost seemed to follow her eventually forcing Claudia to move again. At one tome she even spent the better part of the seventies and eighties in complete seclusion with only a handful of vessels to feed from in Russia. When she reemerged at the end of the century Claudia took a new permanent ghoul in Moscow, 16 year old Erika Baranova taken in 1998 for her odd habits and highly addictive personality. The Russian born Erika has served her as an able if slightly rebellious ghoul who drives Claudia around and handles her affairs through the day.
After nearly ten years in Russia old faces began to show themselves in the city again and it was time to move this time she would leave Europe and everything familiar Moving to Tokyo Claudia has taken up residence in Tokyo’s east side in the Kita district in a modern Japanese house. She wanted a chance to move away from the old world, having spent time in most of Europe, Asia seemed like greener pastures ripe with new vessels to amuse her interests.
