Appearance

Appearance is one of the most confusing aspects of making a character as there is no simple appearance rating. In the world of darkness appearance is encompassed, as well as other things, by Presence. For more information on what presence includes, click the link above. Presence modifiers include the Striking Looks merit and the Sexualized merit.
Notes on Appearance:
- Striking Looks is not supernatural Beauty.
- Striking looks is a modifier for the appearance section of presence.
- Sexualized is a modifier for the personality/demeanor section of presence.
- Sexualized characters have a sexual aura about them, but no benefits are accomplished without the rp needed to seduce or manipulate other characters.
- Striking looks and Sexualized are often abused in a "Hey, look at me!" fashion. So, if you are concerned about other players having that sort of reaction in regards to you or your character then please avoid these merits.
- Presence and Striking Looks do not add together to form supernatural beauty. Presence 3 + Striking Looks 4 do not equal Appearance 7 as if this were Vtm. They do not stack that way, and this is a new system that does not relate to the old system at all. While a presence 5 character with striking looks can be more attractive than one without striking looks, it still does not increase their level of attractiveness that much. For those of you who want an explanation in vtm terms: a presence 5 character with striking looks still does not equate to an appearance 6 or higher character.
