It is extremely popular with Japanese locals because of its amazing selection of pastries, doughnuts, desserts and coffee in a stylish, Japanese setting. It is mentioned on many websites as a "must see" spot which causes it to also be quite popular with tourists. It's not at all unusual to see directions around Roppongi that include "turn at Almond".
