The Takeda dynasty became the ruling force in kindred politics in Tokyo (then Edo) long before it became the capital of Japan. The first Takeda Shogun, Mushi Takeda, takes power.

(1617)
Mushi Takeda is replaced by his great grandson, Shi Takeda.

(1662)
Shi Takeda reigns for many years, an uprising of servants in his family home manage to trap him inside, burning him to death.

(1663)
After nearly six months of confusion, Yoshi Takeda replaces Shi, an aged Mekhet, and a new order in the Takeda dynasty is established. Young male samurai members of the Takeda family are now groomed to replace their aging grandfathers as Shogun. The system continues faithfully for almost 300 years.

(1701)
Yoshi enteres torpor in order to not only escape from the politics of kindred society, which he has grown weary of, but also to sleep off some of his blood potency. Upon entering torpor Yoshi is replaced by his son, another aged vampire Akeno Takeda.

(1702)
Akeno is overthrown by his brother, Kado, who had also been groomed to take the spot of Shogun. It was one of the bloodiest coups in Japanese kindred history. He was able to convince the vast populace of Tokyo kindred that his brother was incapable and weak. His claims were mostly unfounded, but through sheer force of will Kado succeeded. Akeno's entire primogen council, claimed to be traitors to the Japanese people, was slaughtered violently in a public forum. Kado is now often mockingly referred to as Bloody Kado.

(1812)
After the longest reign as Shogun in Edo's history, Akeno finally succumbs torpor, his Blood Potency making it difficult for him to continue to feed. He is replaced by a descendant, Jiro Takeda. Jiro is well known to be weak, his Seneschal and Primogen ruled the city. There were rumors that Akeno had put Jiro in place intentionally so that he might regain his former title upon awakening.

(1821)
Jiro was so weak as a ruler, that his own son Keitaro overthrew him only 9 years after he was embraced.

(1827)
Jiro was replaced by another aged vampire that was more loosely related to the Taked line, Kotaru. It was rumored that Kotaru was Bloody Kado's uncle, but his sire remains unkown publicly.

(1832)
After having returned from torpor, Bloody Kado spent 13 years rallying supporters and regaining power to retake his position, but he was killed by Mashiro Saito, Kotaru's hound. His long awaited coup lasted 3 days. Kado's supporters fled or were banished from Tokyo.

(1853)
Edo's Kindred go through a period of renewal as Japan begins to change with the Meiji Restoration, The capital of Japan is moved to Edo. Kotaru begins a frantic search for a male heir as the last Takeda male falls in battle. It was rumored he embraced a female to carry on in his name but was not proven until many years later.
